I Did a shift at my new job, i had 7 computers that i was working on, and seriously i filled every port of my KVM which i borrowed from the server room.
Also discovered that we have a load of floppy disk, and some of them actually contain what they advertise to have on them.
2moro ive got to sit through training
Oh also for every square meter of floor we had like 2 millipedes, so you were squashing bugs as you walked.
Picture and fact sheet on millipedes

I'm 22 in a couple of days, which is kinda freaking me out, im no longer a kid and I now have a full-time job starting in December, it looks like my little sister is coming to live with me in 2009, which is cool we get on quite well and everything its just discovering you have suddenly become and adult is kind of shocking.
The good thing is that when she come down ill be holding a board gaming fun at our place, i think its my last attempt to still connect with my childhood.

I'm not one who gets bitten the the creative bug, however today I got up and felt creative, so I went to a nice half hour walk across to campus and went into the 3d max lab, and started playing, the end result was a almost totally realistic 3d model of a pear.
The pear as created by me this morning, rendered with 3 external light sources.

What Kind of D&D Character Would You Be?
29th,Jul, 2008 | 09:10 am
I Am A: Lawful Neutral Elf Druid/Sorcerer (1st/1st Level)
Ability Scores:
Strength-15
Dexterity-12
Constitution-14
Intelligence-13
Wisdom-13
Charisma-11
Alignment:
Lawful Neutral A lawful neutral character acts as law, tradition, or a personal code directs him. Order and organization are paramount to him. He may believe in personal order and live by a code or standard, or he may believe in order for all and favor a strong, organized government. Lawful neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you are reliable and honorable without being a zealot. However, lawful neutral can be a dangerous alignment because it seeks to eliminate all freedom, choice, and diversity in society.
Race:
Elves are known for their poetry, song, and magical arts, but when danger threatens they show great skill with weapons and strategy. Elves can live to be over 700 years old and, by human standards, are slow to make friends and enemies, and even slower to forget them. Elves are slim and stand 4.5 to 5.5 feet tall. They have no facial or body hair, prefer comfortable clothes, and possess unearthly grace. Many others races find them hauntingly beautiful.
Primary Class:
Druids gain power not by ruling nature but by being at one with it. They hate the unnatural, including aberrations or undead, and destroy them where possible. Druids receive divine spells from nature, not the gods, and can gain an array of powers as they gain experience, including the ability to take the shapes of animals. The weapons and armor of a druid are restricted by their traditional oaths, not simply training. A druid's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that they can cast.
Secondary Class:
Sorcerers are arcane spellcasters who manipulate magic energy with imagination and talent rather than studious discipline. They have no books, no mentors, no theories just raw power that they direct at will. Sorcerers know fewer spells than wizards do and acquire them more slowly, but they can cast individual spells more often and have no need to prepare their incantations ahead of time. Also unlike wizards, sorcerers cannot specialize in a school of magic. Since sorcerers gain their powers without undergoing the years of rigorous study that wizards go through, they have more time to learn fighting skills and are proficient with simple weapons. Charisma is very important for sorcerers; the higher their value in this ability, the higher the spell level they can cast.

Well today hasn't been totally productive so far, I slept in till 9:30am then read some fanfic, had breakfast around 10am, and did 2 loads of washing this morning, I've used every peg in the place, yes I had a lot of washing I haven't done.
Anyway onto another matter, to distract you all from how slack I have been lately. Yesterday Before my exam I ran into
etimodnar who also had an exam that day. I was a little on edge, (I think caffeine does that to me.). To cut a long story short we chatted for a bit before the exam, its nice to chat it takes your mind of these evil exams.
The exam I think I managed to pass it, a lot of the questions were not what I was expecting, but that's life, full of unexpected twists and turns.

Weekly Spyware & Virus Scan
3rd,Jun, 2008 | 12:39 pm
As any intelligent computer user will tell you, you should always keep your virus and spyware scanners up to date. As mine updates every two hours, there is no problems there so I let it run its weekly scans, I found no viruses, no big surprise there, as for spyware it was just the normal 10 to 15 tracking cookies.
Now in the next couple of weeks I think ill visit my parents and have a look at there computer properly, I was up there for part of the long weekend and fixed the email client setup, which wasn't removing the messages from the old man's email account, yet it was for mothers. I suspect the old man had been fiddling. While I was up at the parents place I also had to reprogram the irrigation controller because mother had been fiddling with it. Its not the most high tech controller out there, but if you listen to the way mother complains about it you would think you would need a Masters degree in Computer Science to program it.
Maybe in this coming semesters break ill design and build a new controller based using a PIC 16f84 micro-controller, and hard code it so no one can fiddle with it.
I think that's all that I should write at this time, because I've got an exam tomorrow that I should be studying for, as well as a need to go shopping for food.

I joined Hal Spacejock's Support Crew
I didn't pay anything,
I didn't sign anything,
and I didn't read the fine print.
Just like Hal!
No space pilot can exist in a vacuum (hah!), and behind every successful pilot there's a talented and dedicated support crew.
Hal Spacejock is one of the least successful space pilots in the history of the galaxy, and a worldwide support crew is needed just to get him off the ground.

stat roles for a npc in dnd 3.5
6th,Feb, 2008 | 09:20 am
I am using 4d6 drop one (no re-rolls).
Also as the dice are rolled for a stat that is where it stays.
this produces a more natural NPC
stat roll result
str = 5, 4, 4, 1 = 13
dex = 1, 2, 4, 5 = 11
con = 6, 4, 4, 3 = 14
int = 1, 3, 6, 2 = 11
wiz = 5, 2, 3, 5 = 13
cha = 5, 6, 5, 4 = 16
The character sheet for this npc will be made available when i have finished creating it.
